Hi Pandaa

Do you have 'P' code with this description?

What tool read that fault?

Do you have any other related symptoms, like a lack of power, poor acceleration, engine management light illuminated?

VVT - Variable Valve Timing - solenoid controlled, phaser sensor detects the cam rotation phase.

Yes all the above issues. Lack of power, excessive fuel consumption, engine switches off arbitrarily, engine light on. Code is P000B. This mechanic believes the vvt motor needs replacement. Not sute what to do

You could ask the mechanic for a quote to do the work and see if its a worthwhile fix.

Discuss the options of new vs second hand parts with your mechanic.
