Its not a common problem for C3s or modern petrol engines to use so much oil.
You can break the problem down a bit to make it easier to work out what's happening. Things to check would be:
Was the correct grade of oil used at the last service? substandard oil would easily burn up.
Where is all this oil going?
Is it leaking out the bottom of the engine?, remove the engine tray to see if its collecting in there or is it dripping on the road? If its leaking out of the engine, then there is a problem with a gasket, the sump nut or possibly a damaged sump itself. Badly fitted oil filter at the last service may be leaking oil and running down the engine.
If its not leaking out of the engine, then its burning up or being blown out of the exhaust and possibly contaminating the catalytic converter at the same time. Emission test would probably show up oil coming from the exhaust.
The other place oil could go is into the cooling system and that will show up quite quickly because you would probably also get water in the oil.
The correct oil for topping up of refilling at service for a C3 Picasso 2010 1.4 16v petrol is this 5W30 Fully Synthetic, low saps C2 oil from EuroCarParts.com with free delivery.
