C3 1.4 8Valve. Re the evaps selonoid fitted near the rocker cover. How can the wiring be disconected from this switch as it seems to be an all in one unit, making replacement difficult.

I don't know if you have anything special fitted but they are usually connected by a plug and the socket is part of the body of the valve.

The part number of the Evap Solenoid is 1628.7G which can be found for sale here on eBay (click)

Thanks for the pics, the one shown differs in detail from mine. I managed to cure related problem of stalling after refueling by (stand back ) spraying 3 in one oil into the valve. A bit severe but car now runs better than ever at eight years old. ( lets hope it lasts )
