Hi all,
Fist time here, I hope I can be clear with my problem

My C3 2006 petrol, won't start when I turn the ignition on. It sounds as if it doesnt have any fuel but the tank is half full (or half empty :D ) A couple of weeks ago I found the clock back to 01 Jauary 2009. Could this be a faulty battery?
It is also giving me an Economy mode message even after the car has been off all night. I try the reseting of the computer but no joy. After that reset, the only improvement was that the Eco Mode message was gone but the swipers are going crazy, they seem to have come to life on their own!
I also changed the key battery but it didn't make any difference, and pushed dwon the road to start it that way but it didn't start either.

Any ideas guys as to what is happening?

Thank you so much!

A petrol engine needs fuel passing through the injectors, compression from the engine and a spark all happening at the right time for an engine to start and run.

You could have bad injectors, bad ECU that controls the injectors, no spark from the coils or a cam belt failure. Other things like bad cam/crank sensors or a bad key that is missing it's immo chip (Transponder chip) can all give similar symptoms, where it turns over but doesn't start.

I suppose, if it were me, I would grab my OBD reader (from amazon) and check for injector, cam/crank errors. But that is just a start. You need a spark, fuel and the cam belt doing its thing for it to start.

Hi.
Guys. I have a similar problem to the original post. I changed the com2000 ( as my dog likes my hand cream and chewed th light wand) and since then the car won't start and swipers are doing their own thing. The original part says COM2005 the one I replaced it with says COM2002. All the connectors seem to be the same but the ***** car won't star!. I mean the ignition goes ok but it sounds as if it has no fuel, which it does, and it simply the engine won't start.
So do I need the exact same part for the car to work? I am sorry if this a silly question but I haven't got a clue about what I'm doing. I'm not a mechanic and I'm not a blonde either
That B&B you so much guys!

If you changed a part because a dog chewed it but the car still started and with the new part it won't start then change the part back to see if it starts. That would be the best evidence the the changes you made have caused the problem and would then lead you to a solution.

It wouldn't anyway , but you didn't mention this change of the COM2000 unit in your original question.
