Hi,
First post, so here goes!
Was told today by my Citroen dealer that my 2009 VT (46,000) needs a new sump as it's leaking due to "porosity". Now, it sounds like BS to me, but I might as well check.
Is this a known problem, or should I speak to Trading Standards?
Should mention I've had the car two years and there was 26,000 on the clock when I got it.
Regards,

Its not one I have heard of before.

But, its quite easy to inspect the sump. It just needs to go up on a hydraulic ramp. Most garages have these and if they are friendly enough and not too busy may even let you under the ramp to have a look for yourself too. Oil is quite obvious to spot and the sump is quite simple.

Did they inspect the car and find a problem or were you contacted because your car is on the list of affected C3s?

Cheers,
It was actually in for a service at the time.
In 30 years of driving I've never needed to replace the sump in any car I've had, so I'm suspicious this time round.
