Hi guys,
I wonder if any of you can be the saviour of my missus and come up with a solution for her beloved polly pluriel that she's got.
It's a 53 plate c3 pluriel petrol and has 56k on the clock however over the last few weeks it's picked up a strange fault/habit of the engine squealing. Now I say strange because it isn't there at start up or when driving, it starts after being driven for approx half an hour. However this is where it gets even stranger. It only starts squealing as we come to the Liverpool end of the a580 east lancs from Wigan approx 20 miles of driving.
From ours to this point there's limited traffic lights etc but when you hit here it's stop start for say 3 miles and that's when it seems to start up. The opposite way is fine, going up and down the motorway further is fine and even all the way to Blackpool then stop starting at the illuminations was great, just this little run.
We've had a mechanic look at it and it's just been serviced and he can't see what it is.
It's a great car (apart from the leaks) and I don't want to make her trade it in or sell it if it's something simple as she really does love it.
Any ideas?

Hello Shauniebabe
The first thing that spring to mind regarding an engine squealing sound is the cambelt tensioner pulley bearing. If the bearing locks up, the cambelt rear surface is forced over it causing an alarming squealing sound. You can inspect the cambelt and see the 'back' of the belt (non toothed side) is showing some wear. Its vitally important to get this sorted asap.
see https://citroenc3owners.com/diesel-citro ... -t207.html whixh has a similar description of sound.
Other causes could be the auxiliary drive belt and any of its associated tensioners, pulleys, alternator, air conditioning pump.
