Hello everyone,
the engine light turned on on my citroen c3 2004 50.000 miles and has taken away a lot of engine power and it seems the car is running just on 3 top hats.
the next day i drove my car again and it was running fine, like there has never been anything before. but i went to a garage and we connected the car to a computer and looked what was saved in the car-computer. the problem could not be indentified specifically (i dont know the exacly outcome anymore, just something with missfire and it listed up 4 things that could be broken). he adviced me to change the ignitions plugs and coil, what we finally did. these two things were also included on the computer outcome. after we have changed the part the car woked fine like the same day i drove it to him. he also added out of his experience with that type of car, if a injector were broken, the computer than says exacly which one it is and no combination like it did at mine. one day later the car has now the same problem like it had before. i ordered now some thing to scan the computer by myself and it will arrive next week but i believe it will show the same combination of problem like it did before. my question is know, does anyone has any experience, that one injector was broken and it wasn´t listed specifically from the computer? maybe some other help?

Hi Leon,
the problem could not be indentified specifically (i dont know the exacly outcome anymore, just something with missfire and it listed up 4 things that could be broken).
That is a shame, as the error codes can help.
he adviced me to change the ignitions plugs and coil, what we finally did.
That is a good start.
he also added out of his experience with that type of car, if a injector were broken, the computer than says exacly which one it is and no combination like it did at mine
So it probably isn't a faulty injector. But maybe a bad electrical connection which comes and goes as the wires are moved around.
i ordered now some thing to scan the computer by myself and it will arrive next week but i believe it will show the same combination of problem like it did before.
I suggest you read the codes, record them, clear them, drive around, read the codes again and then list them in full, in this thread.

Your list will then only show new codes and not an old ones.
maybe some other help?

Hello again,

today the scanner arrived and i connected it with my car. the code is: "Injection circuit/open cylinder 4".
so i googled it and it seems like the injector is damaged. i heard that this part often brakes, but a garage changed it, if its the left one when you stand in front of the car, just 3 years ago.....

yes, it doesn´t seems like there is leaking something. everthing is completly dry between the washing-cable connection, also the ignition coil and the injection is dry. it was also raining one day and after it i looked again, but i will change this part anyway soon just to be sure in the future.

Its the only thing I thought of that could cause the injector to fail again in such a short time. The washer jet is cheap enough to change for the new type.

If the injector is not faulty, then its probably a poor connection somewhere in the loom, not easy to find.

Was there an error number, a 'Pxxxx' code that is shown on the OBD scanner for the injector?

yes,
"P0204 Powertrain Generic Injector Circuit/Open Cylinder 4"

Is the 4th Cylinder the left or the right one if you stand in front of the car? because i will try to change the part by myself.
Or what should i do next?

Number 1 cylinder is at the transmission end.

Suggestions for P0204 are Wiring, injector and ECU.

injectors are quote cheap to buy, have a look at this ebay listing for a Citroen C3 injector its go lots of pictures and information on engine identification.

If you need some instructions on changing the injector, the C3 haynes manual is very useful.

and if you wanted to tell your story on how you changed an injector, photos and words are always welcome in the Citroen C3 Tips section of the forum ;)

Hello,
yesterday the injector and washing jets arrived and today i installed everything.
I have done everything like it is shown in this really helpful video:
After i have changed the injector and put everything together i started the engine at the car was running very well and it still is :D
So i took a first ride and i had to clean the front window because my car was standing some days in the parking slot without any movement.
After i arrived at home i wanted to change the washing jets, and like you allready suggested, they were leaking like hell!!!! Maybe
i dind´t recognize it because the water disappeared evertime the engine was hot enough. Also the installed washing jets had no rubber-joint, pure plastic....
Anyway, thanks for your help and wish you all the best.
