Hey guys. I have a citroen c3 1.4 petrol. Done 106799 miles. Now I am getting a knock from the engine between 1500 - 2000 RPM. It sounds like it's coming from the top of the engine but not 100% sure. I tried using premium fuel and redeex fuel but no difference. I had replaced the spark plugs around 10k miles ago used NGK copper electrode once. ( tried uploading a video but it says invalid file extension)
Can you'll please guide me on what this can be.
Thanks a million. :)

Update. Thanks for the reply I managed to upload the video on youtube the link is .

It sounds very 'tappety'.

Is there any oil in the engine?

Yes there is oil in the engine.
Also, I did an oil change around 4 k mile ago.
Oil used - Castrol magnetic 10w- 40 fully synthetic.

Did you do the oil change before the noise started or after.

Castrol magnetic is a semi (or part) synthetic, not fully. But that doesn't matter, it just makes the oil changes more frequent.

I would still like to know the oil services previous to this and if the sound happened before you changed the oil.

I did the first oil change when I bought the car at around 97600 miles. (at that time there was no sound at all)
The next oil change was done at around 102700. ( a little before this oil change is when I heard that a knock was coming)
The car is now at around 106800 miles.
I cant really tell if the noise has increased since I heard it or it's still the same. If at all it has increased, it's by a very small amount.

The same type of oil was used for both oil changes.

Did not get any service history with the car so I dont know about the previous oil changes.( before 97k)

Thanks again :)
