:?: Hello, I have to to change the drive belt on my 2002 1.4 petrol C3. The car has aircon. I have looked on MicksGarage for the belt and saw that I may also need one of:

Belt Tensioner or Deflection Guide Pulley or Tensioner Pulley

There are also two types of belt with different weight ratings. Is there a correct choice for this car?

I'm away working from home at the moment so can't pull the wheel arch liner off to have a look. I'd really like to order so the parts are ready for the weekend.

Does anyone know what to order?

Many thanks,

Steve

Hi SteveOC3
There are also two types of belt with different weight ratings. Is there a correct choice for this car?
From EuroCarParts - here, you have to match your RPO to get the correct belt from the choice of 2 for 'cars with air conditioning'

Find out about your C3 RPO (or birthday) Here

Then match your RPO to post 09885 or pre 09884 from the choice here. The weight rating doesn't provide a way to determine which one you need, its down to the birthday (RP/RPO).
You can add an avatar to your account - Avatar or change your vehicle details - Car Bio or even add a signature to your posts - Signature. But this is not all you can do in the User Control Panel :)

Belt Tensioner or Deflection Guide Pulley or Tensioner Pulley
Well at only 75000 miles, I don't think the tensioner should have failed, but have your reason for changing the belt, then you will know if you need to change any other parts too?

If the other parts have failed, change them, if not then its your call :)

Thanks for all the info' gentlemen. I'll get the code for the car's birthday when I'm home on the weekend and have the belt ordered asap.

In the past I've usually asked the garage to change tensioners at the same time to save on labour bur as I'm trying to do more myself I think I'll leave it as it seems to be ok.

Thanks again,

Steve
