Hi to all. Just purchased a 2nd hand C3 and registered here.
When stopping in front of the traffic light I hear a beep audio coming from the dashboard and see the oil lamp that flash once.
Same, when turning ignition off. Starting from the oil lamp i thought to check the oil level, but discovered that the bottom dipstick is broken.
First i would like to buy a replacement dipstick, but i don't know the code and length. VIN VF7FCKFV26******.
I have seen a lot on ebay but have to know the code. Could somebody help?
Thanks!

Hi Albi_75, I would suggest you email a Citroen dealer with your full VIN and ask for the part number (and a price).Albi_75 wrote:Hi to all. Just purchased a 2nd hand C3 and registered here.

If not, then you can see which engine you have (provide a photo if you want help to identify it) and its possible to identify it from the engine.
This topic can show you How to attach images to the forum.

Hi C3driver52.
Thanks for your reply. Please find the photo of the motor and the plastic dipstick. I don't know if the plastic stick is original or replaced from the previous owner.
If you'd like i can send the full VIN or a photo of the sticker on the drivers door.
Thanks!

Thanks for the pictures. The engine is the TU3JP and it looks like you have a dip-stick from the diesel engineAlbi_75 wrote:Thanks for your reply. Please find the photo of the motor and the plastic dipstick. I don't know if the plastic stick is original or replaced from the previous owner.

Until you get your new dipstick you may be able to check the oil level from the dash. When you turn the ignition on, have a look on the display above the steering wheel, where the speedometer appears. You should see the oil level displayed for a few seconds as a small horizontal row of bars.
If your oil light comes on for anything more than a flicker, stop immediately and switch off the engine. Engines with low oil pressure will cease in seconds.

Thanks. I will check later on, but on the display i can see only engine total km, prescribed km, speedo, gear engaged and nothing else, no matter what i press.Missing Lincs wrote: Until you get your new dipstick you may be able to check the oil level from the dash. Is this normal? Are the display functions related to the OEM radio, coz i have an aftermarket one?

The oil level only appears for a few seconds when you first turn the ignition on.
Not having the original radio only really affects the trip computer on earlier models, that's only if you have the trip computer on your car.

You mean the oil symbol (indicator) underneath the display near the battery?

The 6 circles 'oooooo' in your pictures show yours has the maximum oil level.
The 4 circles and two underscores 'oooo__' indicates this one is 2/3 full (or 1/3 empty)

The recommended oil for a Petrol C3 is this: QUARTZ 7000 10W-40, synthetic based engine oil (click here)
There is a list of oils for the Diesel C3 engines in this topic for C3 diesel engine oil.

Didn't know the meaning of those "O"... Thanks a lot!
Regarding the dipstick; Today i went to the Peugeot dealer and got the original dipstick with the number 117475.
Is this product code compatible my car engine (TU3JP)
(the guy there said that he used the VIN)
Many thanks.
