Can Someone help me Please.
I went to change the V-belt on my wife’s car and noticed that the Crankshaft pulley is about 6-7mm out of alignment with the generator, air-conditioning compressor and the tensioner pulleys. This is best seen in the attached picture (blue arrow is the pulley in question). This is a 2nd hand car for my wife so I don’t know it’s detailed history. The timing belt was recently changed before we got it as per sticker in the engine bay. But this misalignment seems odd to me. The pulley in question seems to be good, there is no free play and it turns in one plane without issues. I didn’t want to take it off the timing gear until I knew what I was dealing with. I notice that Citroen does things sometimes a special way but my instinct tells me this misalignment is not normal. Should there be a spacer behind the pulley?
I would be very grateful for guidance in this. Namely what is this due and what are the possible repairs to perform.
Grateful to all who will help in advance.

It looks like your crank shaft pulley is around the wrong way.
Remove the 3 retaining bolts and flip the pulley around the other way (inside to outside). If you look at the pulley it's dish-shaped.
My guess is that they removed the pulley to do the timing belt and put it back the wrong way. NO, there is no special alignment procedure for the pulley.

Thank you for your reply. Yes I have figured that out an hour after I posted the question. Becouse that car was tipically serviced by a professional and there was a sticker in the engine bay that the timing belt was changed recently. It just didn't occur to me that a professional mechanic can be so stupid. So on an offchance I took it off and flipped it around. And low and behold there is a stapped label Face Avant. Even if one doesn't know any French it seems obvious that it's the front.

I have a mantra that started me on the path to doing my own car servicing's: "It's a fact that I can do a job as badly as any professional can! So why should I pay them to do a bad job if I can do it as bad myself?".hungryhound69 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 01, 2023 11:20 am It just didn't occur to me that a professional mechanic can be so stupid.
As far as the torque for the bolts go, I couldn't find one, but my best guess is about 12Nm-15Nm.

Yes that's my feeling too. I try to do all of my own maintenance as I just don't trust "professionals". I found a manual online with torques settings. It's 10 m dN on the main bolt and 3.7 m dN for the other 3. Why they need to use dN just to save a decimal place is beyond me. All fixed now with the new belt. The belt that was on it was hanging by a grove off the main pulley and someone has cut off, badly, the inner grove that was closest to the engine body. That's why I started to fiddle with it in the first place, it just looked wrong. But seriously if you notice your pulleys don't align that should be the first clue don't go and cut off the inner grove. That's just criminally incompetent nevermind just doing a bad job. I told the wife now she wants me to go over every nut and bold. Looks like I made more work wor myself.
Still thank you for your help!!! When the wife bought this car first thing I did was join this forum.
