"03" 1.4 petrol auto. How many should this car have and where would they be. I can only see one and that is on top of the thermostat housing. It is a green 2 wire one. I have the temp rising to red for a second and then coming back to 3 bars, its not over heating. So from reading other posts on here, i'm hoping it's just the sender unit. I also have Lexia, would this show up as a fault on there. Not had chance to hook it up at the moment, with all the rain
Thanks Dean
I think i found the other one, hidden below the air filter housing. Looks blue in colour and is 1 wire

I like the ones with a clear description.deanno wrote:Ok, managed to get the car on Lexia and it gave me the following fault

I would suggest and and check the coolant sensor, the wiring from the sensor to the ECU and have a look in the ECU multiplug socket (not necessarily in that order). Description suggesst a short, so look for that.
Use an inexpensive multimeter to check the wiring and possibly the sensor (or just change it).
And have a look to see if your ECU multiplug looks like this:
Coolant shorting the pins of the ECU (from a faulty coolant sensor).

Thanks for the reply. Will it be the blue, single wire sensor i check. Where is the ECU plug you mentioned, in case i can't see it.
Many Thanks
I will change the sensor unit, as it is cheap enough.
