Hello,
I have noticed that the coolant expansion tank on my '04 C3 1.1 petrol has what -looks- to be a connection point for a pipe above the MAX line. Is this some sort of overflow port? Because there is no pipe there currently. Is this leading to evaporation of the coolant?
I looked inside the expansion tank when I topped it up, and the fluid inside was quite dark and opaque. Yet another problem?
Thanks

The top connection if for the bleed found on some models. It should be connected or blocked to withstand the pressure of the cooling system.
The coolant should be RED/PINK
Have a look at the Citroen C3 Coolant topic for the correct stuff to top up and to fully replace the coolant with

Thank you. I'll have to get it into a garage to get a new part.
I just went into Tesco and bought standard all-purpose coolant.

I have no idea if that is compatible with the existing coolant or compatible with the C3. The correct coolant is the red OAT that is shown on the link here and here (amazon).cothbarton wrote:I just went into Tesco and bought standard all-purpose coolant.
If the system is contaminated you will have a better job if the system is flushed fully before refilling.

That is what I purchased and topped up with. The label said it was compatible with all systems, etc.
