The coil pack converts the 12 volts to a very high voltage which becomes the spark across the spark plug.csiadi wrote:What are the common symptoms of the coil pack being faulty ?
No spark means no ignition of the fuel which means no go for the engine.
As coil packs get gradually worse you could expect poor running and misfiring - some sparks are weak or non existent.
The Engine ECU can be damaged by bad coil packs because its the engine ECU that runs the coil pack and these can feed back spikes to the ECU.
