Hi guys.
I've just changed my clutch c3 1.4 petrol. It was making lots of squeeling noises. Found thrust bearing completely smashed and 2 spokes on pressure plate snapped. Now my question.
I've changed for a new clutch. But. When I drive through the gears it slips, like the clutch is going. Has anybody got any ideas as to why. It's a brand new clutch.

I would test to see if the clutch is actually slipping.

Did you change all 3 parts for the clutch? You can also check it out in a parking lot. Stop the vehicle but leave the engine running, and then put the car in second or third gear. Let the clutch out. If the car doesn't stall, the RPMs go up, and the vehicle remains in place, you have a slipping clutch.
Did you torque up the pressure plate mounting bolts correctly?

I changed all 3. Tightened up the pressure plate by hand, no torque wrench. I've sat on my drive engine running hand brake on and tested by lifting clutch pedal. It slipped. But when I took it out for a test drive it slipped majorly. I've been told it could be the flywheel worn.

If everything else is new and the correct part, then a worm face on the flywheel could cause a slip but it may be worth double checking you had the right parts?gary46 wrote:I changed all 3.
