Hi
My girlfriend has recently bought a Citroen C3 and had the timing belt replaced, before it was replaced it has always made this whirling noise, quite like a misfire however the revs do not seem to be jumpy. The car does however lack alot of power and the noise now seems to be getting worse.
I have uploaded videos of the noise to Youtube if anyone could help me out.
Thanks

Hi kylejames, welcome to the forum.
thanks for the videos
The whirring or rubbing sound could be a bearing on the cam belt tensioner/idler or alternator/Air Con drive. If you disconnect the alternator dive belt and run the engine, you could quickly check if this part of the engine is causing the noise.
thanks for the videos

I would check the coil pack and the plugs, try euro car parts for prices for coil packs and plugs. These will give the poor running and lack of power and get worse over time.kylejamesquite wrote: like a misfire however the revs do not seem to be jumpy.
