Hi, could anyone identify this component that seems rustier than the rest of the engine and seems to be rapped in insulation? The whole engine seems to be pristine but this one component stands out, should I be worried?

Hi nickr18

The rusty bit is part of the exhaust manifold.

It rusts because that part gets very hot and is a cast iron material, the insulation is to keep the heat in the manifold.

Nothing to worry about.

The electrical item attached to the exhaust manifold is an O2 sensor.
