Hi
Can anyone help with my c3 petrol 1.4, I have replaced 3 valves as timming belt snapped, I timed the car with the camshaft peg and the one in the flywheel, but now when started it won't idle and knocks slightly have I got the timming wrong or could there be something else I'm missing

You are sure you are not 180 degrees out?

Hi
Thanks for your reply, I checked the rest of the valves and replaced the stem seals and ground them in, can you tell me the best way to do timming if I am 180 deg out as I don't want to damage any more valves thank you

The 180 comment is maybe not so helpful with a modern engine. Cam and Crank sensors should sort that out because the spark is now ECU controlled.
You may have some damaged valve gear, check by removing the cam cover and watching and listening for sticking or noisy cam follower/valve gear.
