burning smell from the engine and its overheating

Hi my C3 conexion is producing a burning smell from the engine and its overheating even i'll just drive it for 5miles. Do you think it's because my engine oil is leaking?because the mechanics i have just replaced a new oil.

Check the oil level with the dip-stick (instructions are in the handbook)

Don't drive the car because you will, if not have already, damaged the engine, probably head gasket (if it's a cooling problem) if not a write-off due to a lack of oil.
