I'm running a heavily modified car and the eco mode wont go off ive tried numerous resets but it wont work and even if it did go off with the ecu I'm using it would come straight back on, is there a way to bypass so I can have my lights wipes central locking ;working without swapping the whole harness fuse boxes and switches for saxo ones thanks

There is a ecomode timer in the .. BSI.. at the position in the picture.

You will need to have a Citroen BSI ECU in the car to get ECO MODE active because it the BSI that generates that message.

ECO MODE clears when the engine is started, via the Engine ECU back to the BSI.

You don't need to start the engine to program the BSI.

next problem then is although I have the fuse boxes I don't have an ecu or the wiring so il have to buy an ecu and wire the minimum so it reads the ecu but I don't have any citroen diagrams ,I assume that the ecu uses canbus to communicate with the bsi

Eco mode is in the BSI. Do you need to read the engine ECU for something?

No idea. The C3 ECU swaps are only ever done as a kit of Engine ECU, BSI and the key. If you don't have all 3 matching the immobiliser won't allow fuel but none of this is relevant to you because you don't have the factory engine ECU.
