Brand new C3 -Noisy engine

Hi guys,

I bought a new C3 just around 6 weeks and it seems to have quite a noisy engine. It is the 1.2 L 3-cylinder You! model. I've calle dthe dealership but they are 250 miles away and the local dealer wants a diagnostic fee of around £130 to check it out. Citreon UK tell me that it would be covered under warranty but to pay and then claim it back.
So, I was wondering if any of you have experienced this with the above engine? Is the 3 cylinder just a noisy engine? I went into the local dealers and started up a new one and in fairness it also sounded quite noisy but was indoors. Thanks! Kal

Engine noise comes in many different forms.

Then there is the volume 'loudness' that becomes very subjective.

Can you record a long video of the sound and upload it to youtube? That may allow someone to identify the type of sound you are getting.

I have the 110bhp version, and I can tell you that it is definitely not noisy.
