I have just inherited my mums C3 she bought it new in 2009 serviced every year no matter how many miles it did
It’s just got 28,000 on the clock and has come up with a misfire and anti pollution fault
I have noticed the washer jet on the passenger side is loose in the bonnet and have read as that can cause problems
My normal garage is chocker at the moment catching up because of Covid
It’s done 800 miles since it’s last service 3/11/19
Would you start there???

Check the injector that is directly under the washer jet.
Check the injectors electrical connection (remove it) and look at the plug and the socket for any signs of corrosion.
If they is any on the injector, change it, If the plug on the loom is corroded try to clean that up very well.
You can can also plug in an inexpensive OBD2 reader (from here) that works on the C3 to get a bit more information about the fault, in particular, which injector as the leaking washer jet may not actually be the faulty one.

Thankyou for your reply I shall do that as soon as I get my husband’s van back from the diesel specialist as he’s had a problem with injectors and fuel rail so I sent that in to get sorted
Never thought to take my code reader out the glove box

"Misfire" means that when the engine ECU expected the crank shaft to accelerate during a power stroke...it didn't.
Potential failures are coil pack, spark plugs, fuel injectors, air in the fuel line water in the fuel...lots of things. So if you can read the fault code that would be a help.
Depollution fault means that the output of the "downstream" oxy sensor is not a flat line. Again this could be a few things, catalytic converter, oxy sensor or a very rich mixture.
The two faults may be related and they may not.
Try and sort out the misfire first.
Was this temporary? How is the engine running now? Is it running well or poorly at the moment? Did you notice any performance change? Anything at all?
If this logged by the engine ECU as "temporary" after a time the engine ECU will clear the fault.
