Hi, this is my first post as I have not long had the car and already I have a few problems! First things first, its a 54 plate C3 1.4 petrol Desire.

I bought this car with a massive oil leak which was down to head gasket...a job which I fixed when I got it home...

...central locking didn't work and door wiring looms had been hacked to pieces to stop the doors inadvertently locking (I guess).

Anyway, a couple of days after changing head gasket, going uphill, car lost power, engine light came on, then a couple of seconds later, light went out and car went back to normal.

Next drive, went to work fine(23 miles), but coming home, engine light, loss of power but this time it cut out and wouldn't restart.

RAC diagnosed that no fuel was being pumped to fuel rail, so towed me home.

I replaced fuel pump relay and then fuel pump to no avail. Since central locking wasn't working, I replaced BSI, ECU and key from a donor vehicle. Rewired the door locks and the central locking now worked, but still wouldn't start

Engine fusebox had no cover so decided to replace this as well, and it started first time!!! My success was short lived however as after putting everything back in place, started it, ran for a few seconds then cut out again and wouldn't restart!!!

It's turning over, just not starting! As on other posts, it has a flashing battery light and eco-mode on display.

Also, as a curiousity, when swapping ignition, at the connector were 2 wires soldered in, jumping the connector with a fuse link in each of these two wires. I didn't bother connecting them when changing the ignition, just taped up where I cut them.

Enough to chew on and sorry for a lengthy first post...any help will be massively appreciated as I would like to use the C3 as my commuter car.

Cheers in advance...

Hi shrimper365

I suggest you check for IMMO using a lexia clone from here or put the old BSI, ECU and find the old immo chip and use that to see if its an immobilisation fault.

The lexia topic is here
