I have a 55 plate c3 that I have had 18months. I had recently had spongy brakes, took it to a French car specialist and it turns out to be a leak in the ABS pump! The block will need replacing, the garage are currently trying to find me a secondhand match but this is proving difficult. If not it will cost £1000 for a new one. As I have already spent roughly that on it, is it worth paying full price to repair it? Especially considering that the money I have already spent is to resolve an issue with engine management light coming on and saying 'faulty antipollution system' an issue that still isn't resolved. The mechanic at garage said the leaky pump could have been what is causing the reoccurring fault light. Is that possible? Has anyone had similar problem or experiences or got any advice for me?

Look at this link to ebay for ABS pumps recovered from C3s (and some pugeout models that share the same pump). Much cheaper than a new one.
You will need (or your garage) access to lexia/diagbox. The citroen specialist will already have one, or you can buy a clone for yourself from this link to ebay. This will allow any ECU pairing and updates that need to be done for the new ABS pump and it can also put the ABS into its special bleeding routine.

No and Yes. No, the 'faulty antipollution system' is an injector or similar fault, but the ABS fault can bring up a warning on the dashboard, but not an engine management light.Rai wrote:Especially considering that the money I have already spent is to resolve an issue with engine management light coming on and saying 'faulty antipollution system' an issue that still isn't resolved. Use lexia/diagbox to diagnose the MIL/engine management/ 'faulty antipollution system' and injection system. You can then use the same system to check the ABS codes, and if necessary use it to pair and purge the replacement ABS unit.Rai wrote:Has anyone had similar problem or experiences or got any advice for me?
