Evening everyone,

My mum has a C3 2012 1.4 petrol. She was driving home and suddenly she heard a hiss and lost all power and car came to a stop and just cut out. It then wouldn’t re-start.

We had to have the car trailered home. I’ve scanned for any codes and none are showing and still the car will not start. Turns over fine.

Any ideas?

Many thanks

Josh

Hi Josh

Maybe you will have to go back to basics with no codes present.
Check the cam belt is OK, Check for a spark, Check for fuel at the injectors.....

I wonder what the 'hiss' was? That may be a clue, but I don't know what yet :)

Hi Arfur,

Will check the following as you said later, many thanks.

I’m confused what the hiss is as well, my mum description was very brief 😂

That is not supposed to happen at 63K, but that's why Haynes says change them early :)

Probably a bent valve?

A 2012, may still be worth repairing.

Do a compression test if its noisy at the top end. Then head off, fix valves, head gasket, and off you go.
