I have just bought c3 desire ant here is an issue where the coolant temperature warning lights comes on half way through driving, the coolant level does not move and the car is not hot or over heating. the fan comes on full speed and does not stop and keeps going for 5 minutes or so when you turn the car off. there is no coolant loss, the fan works, and the engine is not hot. what could this be as it only happens after 10 or so miles???
I am a newbie and any help would be great! I would have though it might be a sensor but not sure

A simple and not so expensive thing to do would be to change the sensor. You can find the right sensor at Euro Car Parts, by visiting the link and entering your registration number in the search box. It will narrow down the part numbers for the engine fitted to your car.daniel240288 wrote:I have just bought c3 desire ant here is an issue where the coolant temperature warning lights comes on half way through driving, the coolant level does not move and the car is not hot or over heating. the fan comes on full speed and does not stop and keeps going for 5 minutes or so when you turn the car off. there is no coolant loss, the fan works, and the engine is not hot. what could this be as it only happens after 10 or so miles???

There is no guarantee that the sensor is faulty, but its a good place to start

this link may be useful too, https://citroenc3owners.com/petrol-citro ... 00-10.html

How did you measure the temperature of the coolant, and what was the temperature?daniel240288 wrote:I have replaced the sensor but still comes on after 30 minutes of driving but engine is not hot?? Any ideas?
