Good evening.
I'm sorry if this topic ha been covered before but I'm on a deadline between jibs and need to answer this ro Prevent a delay in delivery of my wife's new (used) car.
Bought 1.6 vti exclusive c3 picasso and they agreed to change timung belt and water pump as they coukd not confirm.ut had been done (car is 10 years old) 64k.
They xalled tonight to say delivery woukd be sooner as its a chain so no need for the work. A quick Google disagrees with this but I cant call citeron as closed and need to.let them know ASAP.
Any help would be amazing.....
Thanks
Sam

Hi
It will be a timing belt.
Yes, it needs changing. Water pump, idle pulley and the tensioner. Often comes is a kit of parts.

De-coding the VIN shows engine is EP6 (5FW) "Prince" (PSA/BMW) engine. Engine type is the 6,7 and 8th characters of the VIN. Engine type in VIN is set by the VEHICLE manufacturer. Engine manufacturer type is typically different. So it's an EP6 engine, but the 5FW variant. The 5FW really only refers to the accessories attached to the core of the engine, like engine mounts, alternator mounts and other types of brackets, ETC.
