Hello,
I have a 2015 C3 1.2.
For obvious reasons I put less mileage on it than I thought I would. It has just under 60000 km on the clock now.
The official time for timing belt replacement is 5 years and 100k km. And the car is already 6 years old. But way under the mileage.
How urgently do I need to replace that timing belt?
And also: are any of Febi, Dayco, Gates timing belts any good? That's what I can find online. Or do I need to get one from a Citroen dealer, presumably at triple the price?

You are already overdue.
If the belt fails, it is very expensive to replace the engine.
Do it as soon as you can, preferably a year ago.
I have used a gates kit on a different engine and it has been fine.
The gates for your 1.2 82Hp 06/12-09/16 HMZ (EB2),HMZ (EB2F) is K01T360HOB for the kit of belt, tensioner and deflection rollers
I have also use Febi parts on the cars and they they have been no problem, so I would expect the same from their timing belts.

It's just a very surprising short replacement interval, especially for a recent car like this...

Also information seems to be contradictory as this source says it's 10 years or 100000 km, for this same engine? https://www.grange.co.uk/technical-data ... 2015-2016)
I don't even remember where I found the 5 years - can't really locate it now.
On the other hand I see forum information about crumbling belts on this particular engine? https://www.peugeotforums.com/threads/t ... st-2218982

Some of the modern engines were recently recalled urgently for cam belt failure due to some oil contamination

If you change yours, yourself, at least you know it was done and done properly. You also get the chance to inspect the parts that you remove, which isn't always possible when a garage does the work.
