Hello!
We recently bought C3 1.2 (engine type MH01, 60kW), year 2016, and would like to know what is OEM engine oil for this car or recommended oil ATM?
Thanks

Hello

The current oil listed is 0W-30 Fully Synthetic Engine Oil ACEA C2

It is also called 0W-30 Fully Synthetic Engine Oil PSA

The AECA C2 is specified by Citroen (PSA) for the non diesel engines.

it is the AECA C2 that makes this 0W-30 Fully Synthetic oil different from the other, similar 0W-30 Fully Synthetic oil available.

So, if I understand you correctly, the important thing about the oil to use is that it is compliant to the AECA C2 specification.
So, since Total Quartz INEO first 0w-30 states it is AECA C2 oil, I can use it, right? Or it should be the oil you have linked?

Thank you

The Total Quartz INEO is a good choice as it meets AECA C2

Fully synthetic will extend oil change intervals, or to put it another way, a semi synthetic will need more regular oil changes.

You can use different 0w-30 'temperature range' numbers as you can fine tune these to your particular climate in the country the car is used in. But 0w-30 is good for temperate climates.

I am more concerned about timing belt as it is in the oil (if I have proper information) and effect oil have on it.

Thank you.

Thank you.
Checking with Citroen for any recalls regarding the timing belt, then keeping up with the correct service schedule for both oil and belt will best protect you from those belt in the oil problems.

If you worry about the new engine design or think it may not be possible to keep up with the servicing, it may be better to trade it in for a more classic design of engine?

Well, I have read that using the wrong oil can cause the timing belt to flake off and plugging oil channels... That is the reason I want to use proper oil.

Yes, and if the belt flakes it can break.

There have been recalls over this belt in oil configuration, so checking that should be first.

The right oil is going to be one specified by Citroen/BMW for your engine.

Oil I linked to, the Total oil you mentioned and the others that are fully synth and AECA C2 is ok.

I have checked for recalls and there was none for my VIN.
I tried to find oil you have linked in Slovenia, but it's not on sale here.

Thanks
