won't start, won't turn over, stuck in eco mode

my citreon c3 has had a starting problem its happened 3 times now in last 5 weeks and tonight it want reset
come on here last week for info and it worked but will not today
the eco mod is on the battery light is flashing everything works but it want start
i have reset the bsi . what eles can i do any one help

When you turn the key it should power up the solenoid and this can then engage and spin the starter motor.

If the solenoid is faulty then you get a non starter and no turn over.

You get the same if the ignition switch is bad, but this is less common than the solenoid failing.

The solenoid would also fit in with the intermittent nature of the fault as its gets worn - sometimes it works, sometimes not then eventually not working at all.

The solenoid is attached to the starter motor and often changed together because if one is worn, so is the other. Try this link to EuroCar Parts for a price for a starter and solenoid for your reg/model of C3.

its in how to reset the BSI on here is this the same problem

The BSI does not control the starter.

It sounds like you have a failing starter that works sometimes and not others.

Last time I had this on a car used for horrible short journeys the starter brushes were toast, and quite an odd model, once changed good to go.
