Was - Not Starting, Now - Cambelt tensioner failed.

The car I have is a 2004 1.4 16v hdi the car made a horrible noise then limped onto my drive on Saturday run diagnostic it came up with two faults p1351 and p0344 camshaft sensor fault have fitted a new one but still not working any ideas please

Hi midbedspompey,

My first thought was: Broken Cambelt


Any clue as to where the noise came from, and a bit more of a description please.

If it was a high pitch squeal from the engine, check the cambelt idler.


The more I think about it, the more I would be looking at the cambelt.
You can add an avatar to your account - Avatar or change your vehicle details - Car Bio or even add a signature to your posts - Signature. But this is not all you can do in the User Control Panel :)

It sounded like the fan belt had come off cambelt intact

After a number of hours I have found the cambelt tensioner has failed on my Citroen c3 1.4 16v hdi Im hoping it has not bent any valves is this likely

No Bent valves and car car running again few for that :D
