Today on my 2008 C3 1.4 8V diesel, a warning light 'engine overheating' came on, after further searching I found a water leaking from the thermostat housing, has anyone what replacing this part involves? it looks very tight tight between the engine and battery covers. Thanks in advance, Hairy7

I changed mine, you have to drain the coolant by disconnecting the bottom pipe of the radiator, then remove the battery compartment, then you will have access to the 4 bolts. You have to undo about 4 pipes and disconnect the electric connection.
It comes away from the side of the engine. I got the replacement from here (eBay).
One thing to check though whether you radiator fan is working and it is cooling the coolant. On mine the maxi fuse which controls the Radiator fan had gone and the fan was not cutting in which led to the thermostat damage. Yours might be a straightforward fault.

Its also worth reading OAT Antifreeze for a C3 forum post to make sure you get the correct coolant to replace the lost coolant when changing the thermostat housing.
Why not take the opportunity to drain and refill the cooling system with fresh coolant and antifreeze?

Thanks RC3D and C3CAR, after reading other reports on issues bleeding system afterwards, combined with working outside and a rainy forecast, I've decided to go to a local garage.
Thanks again
