Is it necessary or recommended to warm up the engine for 5 odd minutes on the first start of the day?

Hi ahik

The advise is to not warm the engine up first. You are advised to start the engine and then drive off, avoiding heavy acceleration when you first pull away.

The C3 diesel has 'glow plugs' which can also operate in 'post heat' mode, that is to add heat to the combustion chamber even after the engine has started, keeping emissions lower while the engine warms up naturally as you drive.
You can add an avatar to your account - Avatar or change your vehicle details - Car Bio or even add a signature to your posts - Signature. But this is not all you can do in the User Control Panel :)
