Post

Hi all, This is my first post on here, I have recently bought a C3 Picasso 1.6 hdi vtr+ 2010 model. so far I have driven roughly 1500 miles in it and twice I have had an issue, I can only describe it the best I can.... Both times this has happened I have been driving well over an hour mostly motorway so @ 70mph,
I will come to a junction and then as I accelerate I get a jolt, its almost like the turbo just switches off, (the turbo is good) it then seems to poodle along gaining speed really slowly, still runs and drives doesn't cut out or any of that.. The next day or 2 when I start the car the fault is clear and it drives perfectly again, it could happen on 100 miles or a 1000 miles. I have a friend in recovery who put his machine on and its showing codes, p1352, p0087 and p0093.

Has anyone experienced this or know where the issue could be ?

Cheers, Martin.

Hi

P1352 is glow plugs, ignore that, they are not the problem.

P0087 - common rail fuel pressure too low

P0093 - FUEL system leak detected.

It is P0087 and P0093 that would give the jolting and poor performance you are experiencing.

Considering you never mentioned the smell, that would probably rule out an actual leak, but it does indicate a fuel pressure or fule pressure sensor problem.

Thanks Arfur Dent for replying,

Correct I haven't smelt any fuel when the issue occurs and I'm not seeing any physical signs of any fuel leak, this problem only happens as I'm accelerating so a possible loss in pressure sounds like the more likely issue to investigate, I just never know when its going to happen.

The mystery ride continues....

You you get clouds of dark or light smoke when you accelerate hard?
