Hi all, I've owned a C3 for a couple of weeks and have had a few problems with it, nearly all of them are repaired now except the radiator fan.
Initially I had no power to the large black plug. Yesterday I had a couple of hours spare so started looking into it and I found that a 30amp maxi fuse was blown. I replaced it and the 12v supply to the fan was repaired, the car started and ran normally and there were no warning lights etc. Unfortunately the repair was short lived as when i turned on the air conditioning there was a loud click from the cooling fan and smoke poured out of it.
The fan is not seized up and the maxi fuse has not popped. I've heard that the fan has a relay in it, is it likely to be just a faulty relay, and if so are they replaceable or o I need a complete new fan assembly?

I think you will find its a solid state speed controller and not a relay in there for the diesel.
I would suggest a whole fan assembly, new or used, just make sure you get the same as you already have.

Have a look at these listings on eBay (here), you may need to scroll through a few pages but there several listed.gusnjus wrote:Thanks Arfur, no doubt they'll be a small fortune new, I'll see if i can find a usedone.
