A new problem. My radiator fan is never cutting in even when it was 32 degrees few weeks ago! It's a 2009 1.6 Hdi DV6ATED4 BVM.

This is similar to https://citroenc3owners.com/questions-a ... t1674.html a very good post for working through a similar problem.

Only the relay looks like this
98372A 01 citroen c3 relay fan
98372A 01 citroen c3 relay fan
part number 98372A 01 only pretty grotty and they are around £25 new or £19 from China. Made by OMRON

The thing is I would like to know what the pins do the two big ones obviously carry the power and the four small ones are control I/O.

I cannot find anywhere what the pin are so I can test them on the bench.

Any url link or help appreciated.

Hello onepound

Just a quick question, you say the fan isn't coming on but is the car overheating?
If at first you don't succeed, destroy all the evidence and pretend you never tried

I do not get any warning light but I do not have a temperature gauge either!

The coolant is not boiling. Its just hard to see with the outside temperature and the car idling after a trip that the fan would not come on at some point.

simulated an over heat using a 4k7 pot in series with a 33 Ohm resistor in place of the temperature sensor. 33 Ohm correspond to 130 celsius via obii monitoring triggering the dash alarm not sure what temperature the fan should cut in but seems to cut in before this. hope this method of testing may help somebody. This method rules out relay and fan trouble in one go. Maybe being all aluminium it needs to be 40 outside an you need to idle for 1 hour for the engine to warm enough for the fan to cut in!

Just wish they provided a temperature gauge for peace of mind.
