Power output of a 2005 XTR ?

Hi,

I'm confused (as usual). I read on Parker's that the 1.4 HDi engine in the C3 XTR delivers 92BHP (so they're the 16v version?). Yet the XTR I'm potentially buying lists "66KW" as the car's "max net power" and shows nothing about BHP that I could find.

Can anyone confirm for me that all 1.4 diesel XTRs do indeed come with the 16v engine please?

The plate on the passenger door shut will tell you which power output the engine has. Or pop the bonnet and look for the 16v marked engine acoustic cover. You can't miss it.

If you have dont have 16v marked on the cover then its an 8v.

The turbo differs significantly between the 8v with a waste gate and the 16v with variable vanes and the vv control system.

The 8v engines are designated 8HX and 8HZ whereas the 16v 1.4 is designated 8HY. This should appear on the V5 and the VIN plate as part of the full VIN on the car.
