Recently my daughters c3 1.4 hdi has been experiencing loss of power, particularly when pulling away and on hills. I think it may have a stuck EGR valve. Has anyone used an EGR blanking plate for diagnosis, or would I be wasting my time? Also, is it worth trying an EGR cleaner first to see if that will unstick it without having to dismantle it?

Also check the MAF by disconnecting it.

Yes, I can recommend it.

No, its an easy fit and does a good job for testing stuck open EGRs.

Its not such an issue to remove to clean and inspect the EGR and if its that badly gummed up or the spring is broken then spraying may not have an effect, but its cheap enough to try, what is there to loose? You may strike it lucky? Wynns EGR cleaner on Amazon (here)
