Hello Leeuseabata
Just to be clear - how much glow plug is left and is this above or below the surface of the engine?

Whatever the issue, sorry to be harsh, but if the mechanic snapped it off it is up to him to sort it out. It may be possible to get it out without taking the cylinder head off, but it may not, or it may be possible but there would have to be a guarantee that no rubbish gets left inside the cylinder in the process. Taking the head off is not that big a job, the parts required are not expensive, nor is a new glowplug, it is just the labour involved, which should be down to the mechanic as should all other parts except perhaps for the glowplug.
I note you have not specified it is the glowplug, could it be you are talking about another type of plug?
Best of luck.

So, we've established it's a glow plug but is there any plug 'sticking out' or is it 2cm hole with glow plug at the bottom?
Is there a reason why the mechanic that did this hasn't or can't repair the problem?

It was the bottom part that left inside the cylinder but he had to remove the top head to push them out.

My advice is to never remove the glow plugs, they are far to delicate, break easily and very rarely cause problems with starting or running. Even if you do get a 'P1351' - its just not worth the bother.Missing Lincs wrote:it's a glow plug
Strip the head off, replace any parts like valves that are worn, new head gasket, possibly a skim and reassemble. If its due a cam belt, do that too. Just a lot of expense for what?
