Hi leem12,

Power steering faults don't usually go bang. So I would be looking to see what went bang.

You will probably end up changing the rack and ecu if there is a fault with either.

On the earlier C3 models the power steering ECU is behind the battery compartment, so this would be a good place to start looking for the ECU (Red Arrow).

Folks sorry rehashing old thread but I've similar issue.
Faulty power steering error popped up on Friday. Car drives but its very hard. An electrical car guy plugged in the car to computer but he said its not detecting the power steering. So he's gonna look again next week. I've searched for this but in terms of c3 Picasso power steering errors, I'm not finding others with similar problem. Any ideas what I'm looking at here?

Thanks

If the diagnostics can't see the power steering ecu, it could be a blown fuse or damaged PS ECU. Go for the simple stuff first like the fuse.

I don't have a diagram to hand, but I would be looking into those illusive maxi fuses.
