My Citroen 2004 C3 HDi have P1197 and P1351 codes, I took the car for diagnostics check up after seeing and engine light on, the results only showed codes not problems or meaning of codes. I have attached photos, kindly advice.

Hi

You have used a generic scanner to get manufacturers codes and there is no description.

Use a manufacturer tool called lexia (information here) to get the full description of the codes stored

Thank you for the response, but may you please explain these 2 codes meaning for me, especially P1197 because I have seen few responses on P1351 with regards to glow plugs and relay, also that it's not recommended to change unless there is a problem bif starting the car.

Please clarify P1197 code on C3 HDi if you are able to .

Thank you.

This is what lexia will do for you..

It looks to me like a faulty injector/ECU power driver fault.

Does the car run ok?

You have the wrong engine listed in your car information panel (car bio).

The way to read codes is to read them, record them, erase the ones that will and take the car for a run. Re-read the codes and see what you are left with and how the car ran on the test run.

The car runs ok for about few kilometers and then the engine light comes on, once the light is on I can feel the difference , the car does this un usual jacking or jumping but still drivable.

I have deleted the codes but these 2 keeps on coming back. The P1197 only shows if the engene light is on.

It sounds like it could well be an injector/ECU fault, so the description I suggested for P1197 looks plausible.

The car will need much deeper diagnosis to locate the fault.

I don't think this is a common problem/easy fix and will won't be able to be diagnosed remotely. It needs a better diagnosis tool and someone to do the tests suggested by the tool to identify if it is an ECU, loom or injector problem. Quite probably not worth fixing considering the age of the car vs the cost of diagnosis and parts.
