The very best tool to do the diagnostics on a C3 and particularly a diesel from 2002/2003 is Lexia from ebay.bikerman1 wrote:My sons c3 1.4 16valve car keeps going into limp mode. Now it is in limp mode permanently.A p1030 fault has shown up but cannot find out what this means. Any ideas considered
The lexia topic is here
The Lexia tool will give you the correct description for the codes it picks up from the car.
A quick generic description of P1030 is
Powertrain (engine), Manufacturer special code, and then the trail goes cold because you need a manufacturer specific capable tool (like lexia).

That information is incorrect as I have seen lexia working on a 2002 C3 diesel myself.bikerman1 wrote:I have read a couple of posts that say the 'lexia' does not work on adiesel C3
What doesn't work are generic OBD2 readers as the early C3 HDi were not fully OBD2 compliant.
