p1030 fault with limp mode

My sons c3 1.4 16valve car keeps going into limp mode. Now it is in limp mode permanently.A p1030 fault has shown up but cannot find out what this means. Any ideas considered

The very best tool to do the diagnostics on a C3 and particularly a diesel from 2002/2003 is Lexia from ebay.

The lexia topic is here

The Lexia tool will give you the correct description for the codes it picks up from the car.

A quick generic description of P1030 is

Powertrain (engine), Manufacturer special code, and then the trail goes cold because you need a manufacturer specific capable tool (like lexia).

16v 1.4 C3 in limp mode. Cannot find fault. Codes Keep coming up then clearing but fault remains. Car has stopped completely once had to get relayed home. Any ideas please. 2002 car 52 plate

I have read a couple of posts that say the 'lexia' does not work on adiesel C3

That information is incorrect as I have seen lexia working on a 2002 C3 diesel myself.

What doesn't work are generic OBD2 readers as the early C3 HDi were not fully OBD2 compliant.
