Hi!
I have a question about p0402 code that i have when i attach my odbreader. The CEL is not on but code is there as fault not pending. I erase it and it comes back. The car is running perfectly and the idling is normal. The milage is about 130k miles or 220k km. It did pass inspections with normal exhaust values.
I just dont like knowing that a code is there.
What can it be? I know that its Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow (EGR) Excessive Detected.
P0402 code but no check engine light

The generic description for p0402 is 'Exhaust Gas Recirculation A Flow Excessive Detected' and Citroen is 'EGR flow incorrect'. So check the EGR is not jammed open, completely or partially which can be quite common, but also jammed closed.
There is a solenoid that controls the EGR valve and this can go bad too, but I would go for bunged up EGR first
You have no symptoms which is good, and P0402 won't bring up a MIL/CEL on the dash. If you really wanted to get to the bottom of the diagnostics you will need Lexia clone tool to read the EGR control.
This topic (here) may give you some help in finding the EGR and some tips for getting it off for inspection/cleaning.
