Hi does anyone know the normal wastegate position for a 1.4 HDI 8v or where I could find this information ?.
I am trying to find the cause of an occasional not enough Turbo fault code. The only thing that seems to look strange on a scanner is when the engine warms up the required wastegate position drops to 54%. At the same time the actual wastegate position drops to 74%, a split of 20% (see attached photo). My older 2.0 HDI required and actual wastegate positions match at all times and why this looks strange to me. I believe the EDC17C10 modern engine systems can mask defects and even replace readings if there is problem but without knowing what the normal wastegate position is , have I found the problem or a red herring ?
Thanks for any help you can give,
Normal Turbo Wastegate Position, help.
