Hello everyone,

So i bought a new replacement fuel filter for my citroen c3 1.4 hdi 16v, the store has indicated this one to be the original "advised one", but it differs from the original filter i had before (see images below)

The one i had was from delphi and had a thread & bolt to purge, the new one has nothing like that, only a hole in a shape of a cross and no thread to tight a bolt. Is there any part missing from the new filter os its mean to be insalled like this (maybe this model has no purge system?)

Thank you all in advance!
Best regards,
Rui

Hi rukadesigns. You are not supposed to remove the water drain device ;)

Just a quarter of a turn will do.

Your new one looks good, just a different way of exerting that quarter turn (now requires a tool).

No, you will have to purge this one too (prime it before fitting helps too). Use a cross head screwdriver to turn the drain screw when you want to drain water from the filter (at your next oil change is a good time to do it - don't let the fuel run into the clutch :o ).

Many thanks! So this model its supposed to be fitted as it is right? Theres no purge bolt as the old one, only the hole in a shape of cross to fit a tool when needed to purge.

Ill complete the change tomorrow and ill give feedback later.

Thanks for the answer, best regards,

Rui

Its the drain.

Yes, use a tool to activate the drain rather than by hand.

It looks ok to me, but you only show a part of the item, and no part numbers. I would go with what the supplier says. Parts get improved over time.

Yes 1901.95 is a Peugeot equivalent to the Citroen 1901.78 (and many others) .

Your filter will fit the 16v 1.4HDi :) .
