Knocking noise

Hi guys I have a new problem with my citroen C3 1.4HDi 8v it suddenly lost power and has developed a loud knocking sound which increases with rpm, the car also doesnt have a very stable idle any ideas? I will try get a vid later tonight for you guys.

When you take your video, try to listen to the engine to determine if the sound it nearer the top, bottom, left or right.

Its uncommon for a knocking to also drop the power, so its not likely to be an ancillary, which does point to mechanical failure in the engine

Im getting my OBD2 reader later this week will see what that error is but wasnt there before i started fiddling with the injectors unsure it if its related to my issue but here is the vid as promised

That sounds terrible. I wouldn't drive it until you can identify what it is, well worth looking on the injector department. But there is also a crank pulley that makes a knocking sound. You could disconnect the axillary belt temporarily to see if it changes the sound.

You are also missing the protective cover to the battery and, more importantly, the engine ecu plugs.
