Hi, i get this thump when i switch off the ignition and i can physically see the engine surge forward when i do this, this leads me to believe its a mount that has worn out, also when i go on and come off gass in gear i can feel the thump again, i am almost certain its the rear mount, it doesnt happen when i rev in neutral though, i could be wrong about this so please let me know if im missing something, also is this febi bilstein mount a good replacement for it: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Febi-Rear-Eng ... ty-Damper-

Yes, it is most probably the lower engine mount.samstagmoonyham wrote:Hi, i get this thump when i switch off the ignition and i can physically see the engine surge forward when i do this, this leads me to believe its a mount that has worn out, also when i go on and come off gass in gear i can feel the thump again, i am almost certain its the rear mount, it doesnt happen when i rev in neutral though, i could be wrong about this so please let me know if im missing something, also is this febi bilstein mount a good replacement for it: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Febi-Rear-Eng ... ty-Damper-

The febi one in your ebay link is the one you need.
when they go bad
I wouldn't say better. The picture is right for the febi part and febi is a very good quality brand. I can't see the picture on euro car partssamstagmoonyham wrote:on second thoughts is this mount on eurocarparts the better choice?

ok cheers for the reply, ill buy the febi one and replace the mount, am i right in saying its just two bolts to remove, then fit the new one in by pushing the engine/bellhousing gently so the holes align?

Yes, but its at the bottom of the engine and the threads of the bolts are exposed to road salt and dirt so it my be best to soak them in some penetrating fluid a few hours before trying to remove them.....samstagmoonyham wrote: ok cheers for the reply, ill buy the febi one and replace the mount, am i right in saying its just two bolts to remove, then fit the new one in by pushing the engine/bellhousing gently so the holes align?
