Hi I have a 59 plate c3 picasso that intermittantly cuts out. 'anti pollution error' flashes on dash. I have to coast to a stop. I can then restart and carry on. Sometimes it happens again, other times just the once. I drove last for 2 weeks to work without a issue then the same happened again. Have also seen low oil pressure warning flash up. I cleared codes and read again as suggested and see codes P0001, P1351. Took to garage today and they can't get it to happen. Can any help with the above? Thanks

Hi c3picassoFX.

P1351 is the glow-plug relay and is unlikely to be the reason for the fault. The glow-plugs/pre-heaters don't really get used on a run and this fault code shows up a lot on the diesels with no adverse effects.

The oil pressure light is expected to come on if the engine stalls unexpectedly so I think this is just a symptom of the stall and not relevant.

I don't have P0001 for a diesel Picasso.

Without any other injector/ecu faults. I would be looking at main power distribution, like the fuse box in the engine compartment, battery terminal connections, battery leads etc.

Does the intermittent coincide with acceleration, braking or cornering that could be moving an electrical connection?

Hi thank you for your reply. I'll clear the codes and check again to see if any new ones appear. Not really sure on service history so I've down air, oil and oil filter but haven't done the dieael fuel filter. Would it be worth changing this also? I've been reading about the fuse box as aposs issue but upon quick inspection couldn't see anything a miss. I'll take another look this weekend and maybe look at replacing the entire box. Do u know if it's a manageable DIY job? Also garage we purchased from replaced battery as car was sat for a while I think. will check the terminals and cables etc. Thanks

If its not been done before, then 50K is a good time to have it done. I do mine much more frequently, they are not hugely expensive and provide protection to some very expensive injectors :)

Yes, getting the right part will take some tracking down, but its a straight forward swap. Have a look at the one you have and compare the part number with these on ebay.

Well worth checking the easy stuff first ;)

Hi,

In the end i ordered a new engine compartment fuse box (inc fuses) from ebay after checking part numbers etc. My picasso doesnt have the DRL lights.

I removed the old fuse box (simple job) and replaced with the new box and fuses. I also followed and earth cables to the body, removed, cleaned, and reconnected. Cleaned all the battery terminals and cables and re-greased. Since doing this the car has run perfectly fine for 10,000 plus miles.

Also when it rained i could see water dripping from under the windscreen into the engine bay via a cable in the bulkhead (near the fuse box) so I also siliconed this up and made sure the drain plugs are clear under the windowscreen bulkhead.

It appears it was a random electrical fault either in the fusebox or the cabling around this. I had lots of people look at it and they all said different things but all the info on the net was to do with electrical faults and pointing to the fuse box.

Hopefully this helps!

cheers

This is mad, I looked for this fault for months, 1.1k later and some refunded mind you from a citreon dealer, board checked, 2 x EGRs a new turbo, fiilter, egr pipe etc, loads of work and no change.

Will have a look at the wiring then for an electrical fault. Many thanks.
