Identifying a loud ticking sound coming from diesel engine

hi i have a citroen c3 hdi 1.4 52 plate diesel ,
i have a loud ticking sound coming from engine and i can see a round thing more towards passenger side of the engine with something plastic looking poping in out the top of it.
i have a video and pictures i dont know how to add them,
im new to this sorry.

so i think the black thing in the picture is a broken gromet.
i will look at my fuel injectors tomorrow to see how they look.

Not all of the 8v 1.4HDi engines had covers (like the one that is missing from yours), so I don't think the noise you hear is due to the cover missing/not fitted.

Does the sound from your engine sound like the one in the video of the faulty injector seals:
