Hi,
I have recently got a Citroen C3 2010 model. After finding the P1351 fault code I am trying to access the glowplugs to test them and the relay. I believe from my research that I need to be removing the air filter assembly. I tried to do this yesterday, however, I just could not find a way to lift it out of the car due to it being a very deep assembly.
Any tips on how to remove this would be very much appreciated. I have attached some pictures also.
Thanks,
Samuel

If its anything like the 16v 1.4, then you have to dismantle the air box before its can be removed.sammyelrefee wrote:I believe from my research that I need to be removing the air filter assembly. Are you sure its P1351? What tool did you use to read this code and are you having any drivability or warning lights with the car?sammyelrefee wrote:I have recently got a Citroen C3 2010 model. After finding the P1351 fault code I am trying to access the glowplugs to test them and the relay.

Thanks will have a look to see if I can do this.If its anything like the 16v 1.4, then you have to dismantle the air box before its can be removed.
I used a Lexia clone to find this. If cleared it will come back on a cold start in the morning. Accompanied by a strong diesel smell. No warning lights. Are you sure its P1351? What tool did you use to read this code and are you having any drivability or warning lights with the car?
Thanks for your reply!

Hi, had a go but could not find any way to separate the air filter housing into 2 parts. No visible signs either like a line where it comes apart.
As the car was bought with a 3 month warranty I have insisted that the garage takes it back again to try again. The 1st time I took it in (last Tues I believe) they replaced the MAF sensor (with a Lucas made part) which did not clear the P0104.
I told them about the p1351 so they tested the glowplugs but not the relay. I have dropped it off with them tonight as the P1351 will clear but always returns on a cold start in the morning alongside a lot more exhaust fumes than what I believe normal.
The garage claims that the fault code may probably just be there when there is no fault. I don't believe this. Would you agree with me on not believing?
In response to me explaining the strong smoke and smell I'm told it is 'normal' - I choose to take this with a pinch of salt also.
I have told the garage I want the relays tested as he did not test these last time.
Any comments?
Surely error codes don't appear when there isn't actually a fault? Never heard anything like this and never experience anything like this before.
Thanks and regards.

Good luck

Will do that when I get my car back Friday! I'm not filled with hope that this garage will even find anything wrong. They're trying to cover it up as normal and that the error codes don't just happen when things aren't even faulty. Last time I went I took Lexia in with me and after they said they had fixed everything (all they did was change MAF) I got lexia out in front of them and proved the errors were still there. To which they said that the error codes are there even though there is no fault (even after clearing). You must remove the oil filling cap(no need to even open the housing..)
Good luck
Thanks!!
